Easy To Install Rating: 5/ 5 I'm totally new to SQL Server. I had big time problems trying to install the old 2005 developer version that came with Visual Studio. I got SQL Server 2008 developer for Christmas along with a book called "Beginning SQL Server 2008 for Developers: From Novice To Professional" written by Robin Dewson. The book guides you through the installation process and is really easy to understand. If you have Visual Studio 2008 installed, make sure that you also have Service Pack 1 for VS installed. If you are brand new to SQL Server, I would suggest getting that book also. I would have been totally lost without it. SQL Server 2008 rocks! Rating: 5/ 5 This is great SQL at a great price. If you are a student at a college or similar school that qualifies for DreamSpark, you might be able to get it free through your school - point your search engine to "Welcome to Microsoft DreamSpark". In any case it's a great price, and you can use it with the free Express 2008 versions of VB and C# - point your search engine to "C# Express 2008". LINQ-to-SQL in the 2008 version is so cool. LINQ makes querying a first-class language feature in VB and C#, and LINQ-to-SQL takes it to the big-boy SQL database levels.
